July 2016: Tips, eNews and More!

With summer now in full swing we bet that you are now really feeling the heat! Be sure to keep the fans blowing and try drinking more water on those really hot days. Take the time to apply sun screen to protect your skin and prevent burns from too much sun exposure. For a full list of tips on how to prevent heat-related illness, click here.

We hope you had a great time celebrating with family and friends on Canada Day. The summer is all about enjoying the nice weather and good food but in between indulging in icy treats and BBQ dinners, remember to keep your oral health in check. Brush and floss every day and bring your kids in for a checkup. This is a great time for them to come in before school starts again. Book an appointment today.

Stay cool,

Dr. Bulger and the Museum Dental Team

A Brighter Smile Today!

Wow! Summer is here and so is wedding season. Most people, especially brides, love the look of a bright white smile. Much like our very own Fiana and her mother Sofia.

Did you know that Museum Dental offers many different products and procedures to help you improve the color of your teeth, from a simple take-home system to our in-office professional teeth whitening system?

Over time, your smile can become discoloured from foods and drinks such as tea, coffee, tobacco and wine to name a few. Before whitening with any system, it is strongly recommended that you have your teeth professionally cleaned to achieve the best result possible.

Professional teeth whitening is fast, effective and safe. Come in and talk to our professionals about your options. Bright white teeth are a smile away!!!

Museum Dental wants you to have that beautiful bright smile this summer, after all a smile can change someone's day.

Hello everyone, it's that time of the year where our team gives back to the community. This year's charity recipient is the Heart and Stroke Foundation. On August 18, 2016 at 1:30pm our team will be participating in the BIG BIKE RIDE on Bloor Street, starting at Holt Renfrew (minutes from Museum Dental's office).

Our Team will be raising money to develop life-saving treatments that bring hope to heart disease and stroke patients.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is creating more survivors! Last year alone, they helped 165,000 people survive heart disease and stroke. Everything that they do is only possible with the help of people like us.

Still, cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death for Canadian men and women.

All of the money raised through Big Bike will go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, where they'll use it to develop life-saving treatments that bring hope to heart disease and stroke patients.

Will you help us reach our fundraising goal by making a donation today? Click on my page link below to support our team with a donation. Every dollar you give will help create more survivors.

Dr. Michael Bulger has pledged to match the donations collected.

There's a seat on the Big Bike for you!

If you haven't heard, the Big Bike is a really big bike...massive actually...29 of us will be riding it around town to fundraise to help create more survivors! It's super fun!

Although our team is large there are a few seats available. Seats are limited so don't wait to join our team in this great cause.

To claim your seat, simply email maria@museumdental.ca

If a donation or a seat on the bike is not feasible for you, then come out and support the team by cheering us on!!

Fight Tooth Decay with Beet Juice

According to the NIH (National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research), 92% of adults between the ages of 20 to 60 have tooth decay.

Tooth decay occurs when bacteria in your mouth creates lactic acids that eat away at the tooth. The root cause is sugar, since bacteria uses sugar as the substance with which to adhere to the tooth. These bacteria can eventually turn into plaque - a sticky, colourless film of bacteria proliferating on our teeth. Tooth decay can be minimized by a healthy diet that involves cutting down on sugary foods. But did you know there's something you can add to your healthy eating habits that can actually help prevent tooth decay?

Beet juice!
