March 2015: Tips, eNews and More!

March Break is almost over!

For those of you with kids still in school, March Break provides a great opportunity to schedule an appointment for a regular cleaning and overall checkup while gearing up for summer.

Also be sure to ask about custom sport mouth guards if your kids are participating in any summer activities. You can request an appointment here.

March is Nutrition Month!

Every year, the 'Dieticians of Canada' select a theme for the month. This year it is Eating 9-to-5!

Rushed mornings, missed lunches, donut-filled meetings and a busy workday can make it difficult to eat well. Eating well at work can boost concentration, productivity and vitality. It can also reduce missed days of work by helping to improve overall health. Click here to learn more

Have a fun and safe month,

Dr. Bulger and the Team at Museum Dental

Office News

Dear Patients,

In an effort to better serve you, Museum Dental has upgraded our dental software.

What does this mean to you as our patient?

This will simplify appointment reminders. The look of the email will appear differently and you will no longer have to write a confirmation response, but rather just click the confirmation button at the end of the email. The subject line will read "Dental Appointment Reminder".

Another wonderful feature added will be the ability to text you the appointment reminder. However, this feature will need to be added to each patient's profile and it can only be done with your permission. Therefore if you wish, to receive a text message reminder as well as the email or in place of, please inform the office and provide us with the number you would prefer the text to go to. Once this setup is complete, you will receive your text message reminder. Upon receipt of your text please confirm the appointment by responding with the letter "Y" only.

A reminder to all our patients, in order to avoid any of our emails going to your junk folder please add our email address to your contacts. reception@museumdetal.ca.

Thank you and we look forward to your feedback.

Your Dentists Top 10 List

  1. Dental Checkups Include Oral Cancer Screenings. Dental checkups include screenings for oral cancer, a serious oral disease of the mouth, lips, or throat, but like most cancer is treatable if detected early.
  2. Gum (Periodontal) Disease Affects Your Overall Health. One of the principal causes of tooth loss; gum disease has also been linked to other diseases, such as diabetes. If detected early, it can be treated quite effectively.
  3. Dental Cleanings and Checkups are Extremely Important to your Well being. Your dentist wants to prevent problems before they happen - regular checkups and cleanings will help to maintain your teeth and gums.
  4. Brush and Floss Twice Daily. This helps to prevent cavities by removing the plaque which causes tooth decay. This daily practice is extremely important in preventing gum disease.

Eggplant Parmesan

Eggplant Parmesan is a fun meal to make and delicious to eat. Our favourite thing to do is to keep some leftovers and make great, hearty eggplant parmesan sandwiches!

This recipe directs you to bake the eggplant instead of the more traditional frying method which is both healthier and results in crispier eggplant.
